This was in the Parade part of the paper today, so thought I would post.
Q- Is there a new Batman movie in the works? A- No. Warner Bros., which owns the Batman and Superman franchises, was thinking of making a movie called Batman vs. Superman, but it has been postponed. Instead, the studio signed director Brett Ratner (Red Dragon) and writer J.J. Abrams (ABC's Alias) to develop a Superman movie. As for Batman, he'll have to cool his heels in the Batcave for a while. |

I've heard about that, I think it's suppose to be released in 2004, I've also heard about Warner Bros. is also working on creating a movie called "Batman: Year One" I think it's scheduled to film sometime early in 2003, but that is the earliest. Although it hasn't been announced yet. They are also in production to make an untilted Superman project.
"Batman: Year One" (2003) Premise: This is the story of two young men, Bruce Wayne, and Lieutenant James Gordon, who operate on opposite sides of the law (or so Gordon thinks), but find over the course of a year that they have a lot in common. The emphasis is obviously on how a man becomes a hero, as Wayne tries various techniques at fighting crime, making mistakes along the way, before becoming the Batman we know and recognize. In addition to fighting crime, he also meets Selina Kyle, who will soon be known as Catwoman... "Batman: Year One" might even have a sequel named "The Long Halloween" which fetures year two. I'll be posting more details later.... |

Toon Zone posted this about the Batwoman movie:
An insider has provided Toon Zone with the official description for the upcoming Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman video. The description is as follows: "A ruthless destructive vigilante posing as Batwoman is wreaking havoc in Gotham City. While she sets her sights on thwarting Penguin's evil plans, Batman concentrates on discovering this mysterious imposter's true identity. But when she's captured by the vicious Bane, it falls upon the caped crusader to rescue her, defeat Bane and foil the Penguin's devious plot himself." The DVD/VHS is being released in the fall of 2003. Toon Zone is usually correct on things like this. What do you think? I plan on seeing this. |
