"Resident Alien" Canceled after 4 Seasons

There will be no last-minute reprieve for "Resident Alien" this time as the sci-fi comedy-drama starring Alan Tudyk will be ending its run with the current fourth season, Deadline has confirmed.

The upcoming Season 4 finale on Aug. 8 will serve as a series finale.

Creator, executive producer and showrunner Chris Sheridan, who based the series on the Dark Horse comics, had seen the writing on the wall and did not expect a second miracle renewal.

“I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season,” Sheridan told TV Insider. “Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. I’m so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series.”
