In Freddie's book his mother said that Freddie had tried to attend a church to find some peace but became upset when he was turned away at the door because he wasn't wearing a tie.
I wonder if he would have been welcomed in if he could have found some peace, gotten help and still be here today? It just goes to show you have to be careful how you judge people, and how you make them feel with your words and actions |

You make a great point. He should have been welcomed regardless of his attire. I read about this incident and it seemed to have really hurt him. Because in his wisdom, he understood that the church should have an open door to all who seek to enter. Whoever turned him away really missed the entire point of worship. I, too, wonder if he had attained a spiritual peace and assurance would he still be here? I believe in my heart, he would have. I think that he was so perplexed because he had amassed everything that the world says should have made him happy and content. But inside, he was not! If he could have reached the spiritual revelation that he already had the makings of true and lasting happiness before he became a star, i.e., loving family and friends and relationship with his higher power. For me, this is the only way I survive. Let's face it, life can be difficult for all of us at times. When we cannot see how we will make it or feel that we cannot go on. It is at these times, that your spiritual self comes to the forefront and holds on to your faith to carry you through it SOMEHOW!

That's sad... I bet they were an Independant Baptist cuz they have all those does & don't rules. He should've gone to a Presbyterian Church. My hubby & I go to a Presbyterian church & they don't care how ya dress or look, all they care about is God... Maybe he should've gone to a Presbyterian Church... SO sad, eh couldn't even get help from those who are supposed to help...
