Jay Master Jay was shot and killed yesterday

He was one of the greatest DJ's and one of the most influenceal as well...my condolences go out to his family and friends and the whole music community

Another stupid pointless death. And Run DMC wasn't like all the
other "gangster rap" groups. They had a positive vibe about them. I think last I heard, they were going to open up for Aerosmith and Kid Rock at the Tacoma Dome in a few weeks.

yah they were also working on a new album, and like a "20th Anniversry Tour" it really was a pointless death, cuz he wasnt not a gangster and from what I have heard a "real family man"

His name was Jam Master Jay & yes he was a positive person but from what i read why he was killed, he owed a lot of people money. He was in a lot of debt, he even owed the state of New York money. He was almost about to lose his house but Russell Simmons put up some money to save his house so his wife & kids could have a place to stay. Run DMC was gonna do another cd before he died, i'm glad they didn't do it cause their Crown Royal cd last yr sucked terribly. I hated that cd. DMC was also gonna do a solo album which i hope he never releases. Run DMC should've quit rapping after their Down With The King album 9 yrs ago. My favorite albums by them are their first 3 & Down With The King.
