In syndication, should they be shown whenever they naturally come around in the rotation, or should they be pulled and held for the appropriate time of year?
If you own show sets, would you, for example, watch a Christmas episode in June? |

I definitely wait til the Holiday season. Even though Christmas episodes are my a lot of my favorite episodes. Even December 26 is questionable and definitely by December 27 I’m done with them until mid-late November.

Problem is that when a station buys reruns to a series, the contract is usually for something like 7 runs of each episode over a 5-year period (at least it was in the old days).
If you constantly skip holiday episodes (except when the holidays roll around) you'll be left with unused runs on those episodes. Even if a Christmas episode runs in July, isn't it better to run it and get the commercial revenue rather than letting it sit and not using all of the available runs? I've seen it both ways...stations airing holiday episodes in the summer and others skipping them, but running them multiple times when the holidays roll around. |

I don't mind holiday episodes at off times of the year, I kind of like to see snow and Christmas trees in July.
