Default Joyce explains in July of 1979 why the transition to new hairdo for season 4

It seems like it was more than the hairstyle, everything about her in season 4 looked so different that it almost seemed like it wasnt the same person

Check out these images of Joyce from Season 1, episode 6, airing in April 1977.

She looks so good, I wish she'd have kept this very early style.
She has on some very small hoop earrings:

Such a pretty face, and I think this haircut complements it really well.
hot!

Her Season 1 look was very natural and suited her. But between Season 6 and 8 when she had her "show teeth" redone(top front 6. Likely caps back then, but the filling-out effect gives the illusion of more space and symmetry between her septum and top lip. No, really! Look at recent hi-def pictures and you can see where what looks like now a partial ends and her natural back teeth with periodontal issues/receding gums are separated), the nose tweak and that lovely dark hair framing her face.. It was the Season 7-8 look that just made me melt! Ooof!

Yes, I know what you're gonna say and, like Bruce Campbell would put it: I'm shallow enough to notice!

Yes, I thought her nose job was a downgrade as well. Looked much better with the original nose. If you saw Joyce's recent interview with Amy Yasbeck, she went into her hairstyle changes.

I never really noticed Joyce's nose and fixed teeth I guess from years of always watching washed out faded TV broadcast episodes.

But I do notice at times how yellowish Suzanne Somers and Norman Fell's teeth were.

In season 4, Joyce now was 30. I'm sure that had something to do with her wanting to change her look.

What I could not stand in season 2 was a few times TC had Chrissy walking around either in her skimpy nightgown or shorts, and by comparison Janet was made to look dowdy.

Janet did look better by season 3 but by season 4 she was really hot.

is it true that Joyce was involved in an accident, and that's why she had her nose done, etc.? I recall reading it ion here somewhere, but have never seen official confirmation of such. Thanks.

Bump

Here's how Joyce looked way back when the 2nd pilot for TC was filmed. Very short hairstyle. Look at that beautiful face, so pretty:
