Default Anna Maria Horseford

Anna and I have been close friends since 1956. She is the godmother to my 2 oldest children, Shaun and Eboni.

She has been a star in my sight all her life. She is warm, witty, down to earth and genuine. We attended religious instruction, girl scouts and everything else together. When she was accepted into the HS of Performing Arts I knew she'd make it.

I was so happy that others got a chance to enjoy her talent. I always thought that her role as Thelma on Amen was one of the funniest characters on a black sitcom.

There are so many negative black roles in the sitcoms and I have always been proud to allow my daughter to see her godmother, Anna Maria Horseford, in a positive (even if not so bright), "non-hoochie-mama" role like Thelma.

Anna has never been frumpy like Thelma........just beautiful....inside and out.

Default Thelma

I recently saw the movie "Friday after Next" and there was Anna Maria Horseford". I didn't see the other 'Fridays' so I wasn't expecting her. I'm sorry that her role wasn't bigger. I would like to see more of her work. I definitely think she can carry a show herself. Amazingly that none of the cast from Amen got their own series. Thelma could have taken off with a show of her own. A real comedy treasure.

Now i know I don't want to see it now. How is she going to be Ice Cube's mother in the first Friday and Da Da's mother in Friday after Next. Doesn't make any sense at all.

I liked Anna's character on Amen as Thelma. She got on my nerves though always pursuing Reuben. She was Ice Cube's mother in Friday After Next Solomon. She wasn't Day Day's mother. In that movie, it looks like her breasts got bigger LOL. She was in Master P's Lockdown movie as the prison warden which was surprising. She's a good actress.

Talking

Roz Ryan does have a sitcom. She is on with Anthony Anderson playing his mom. But i did not realize that thelma was that old. I thought she was in her twentys when she was on the show. I found out that Roz Ryan was the youngest of the cast. I remember seeing Thelma with her goddaughter in a issue of jet. Is that your daughter be cause she was real cute.

Anna was also in How High movie with rappers Method Man & Redman. She's gonna be on Method Man & Redman's new tv show this month on Fox network. I think she's gonna play Redman's mom. She was his mom in How High movie. Anna was also in Set It Off movie with Queen Latifah, Vivica Fox, Jada Pinkett. She was a social worker who took away Kimberly Elise's baby.
