Default Why did TV LAND Take Chico off ?

I recently went to the TV LAND official webiste and posted this question, I know many of us are not pleased about this, and I do hope they will bring back the show at some time soon. All memb-
ers, write to or e-mail TV LAND and tell em' to put CATM back on the air...For now, it's Looking Bad...Hopefully soon, it will be Look-ing Good once again...
Peace....

Question

This is an excellent question. Most of us here have signed petitions, written e-mails and snowballed TVLand with inquiries and requests that they air CATM again. It undoubtedly received a good viewership and boosted their ratings. Why they ignore us and refuse to air such a popular show, is beyond me.

Well, sadly I dont think there are enuf of us to make a difference to TV Land. I have a feeling that the greater majority of their viewers are kids....and lets face it..... humor of today is VERY different. They just dont appreciate the good clean fun we did as kids. And even if they did....look at the time slots they put CATM in.... it was like 530 am and then 12 am.... hellllllllo....most people are asleep at that time! CATM never stood a chance.

I am 20 years old and a huge fan of "Chico and the Man". I would wake up every morning at 5:20am to watch and tape the show. We need the older shows to air because they are different from shows today. Most shows today are crap. I remember fondly watching Nick at Nite when they used to show "My Three Sons", "Patty Duke", "Dobie Gillis", and all the others. Maybe someday every show will be released on DVD and I, along with all of you, will be able to watch "Chico and the Man" uncut and with a clear picture (My TV Land is not the clearest channel). And about me taping the show, I got all but four episodes, so that bugs me.

I have to agree here, cause I'm only 23(birthday in 3 days!) and I love the show because of Chico and Ed's relationship although really and truly, Louie is my favorite character! I think a lot of our generation has not been exposed to this type of show, just look what's out there. LOL I don't watch very many shows of today, most of what I watch are old shows, but then again, I was raised on this. My mom had us watching old re-runs for as long as I can remember.

WOW! It is great to see younger viewers....... I am glad that you both had the opportunity to see CATM. Still when I said kids, I meant very young kids. But its great to know there are young people who appreciate Freddie's work. I am SURE this would bring a smile to his gorgeous face.

Thumbs up

Wow!! That is terrific that the younger adults are into CATM and other older television shows. This is heart-warming for me because those shows bring back so many fond memories of better days. Thank-you for being interested and giving these shows a chance.

Oh yes, Tylersmistress, I agree with you. This would definitely bring a smile to Our Prinze's face.
