After Loretta Swit died, a former member here posted on Facebook that she remembered a good movie with her and Patty Duke. The movie was A Killer Among Friends which I just watched tonight. Not one of the free choices from X1 so I had to rent it. Tiffani Thiessen also stars as Patty Duke's daughter who was murdered. Someone named Margaret Welsh also plays a prominent role. A Killer Among Friends was really good, I was not expecting it to be based on a true story at the end. It was a TV movie that premiered on CBS Tuesday, December 8, 1992. ABC went with a repeat of their Tuesday ace Roseanne against it. A bit surprising NBC allowed Tiffani-Amber (at some point between then and White Collar she dropped the -Amber part of her name) to star in something this dark while Saved by the Bell was still airing new episodes.

The year before in 1991, Mark Harmon and Margaret Welsh were the main stars in the remake of Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt. Now for the TV movie premiere, they were timeslot rivals. Mark lost that showdown big. A Killer Among Friends more than doubled a new episode of his Reasonable Doubts drama co-starring Marlee Matlin. Reasonable Doubts was in its 2nd of only 2 seasons.
