Default MeTV made me miss having a DVD player easily accessible tonight by cutting out the

ending of Archie is Branded when the guy is blown up in his car. I still have access to a DVD player but not like I did 2 months ago. I used to be able to watch it on my laptop but I had to replace it 2 weeks ago. So if I wanted to see that scene tonight I would have to get up and plug in the laptop I have with the DVD player and move the current DVD player to the side versus just going to get the DVD and popping it in lol

Couldnt find the full episode on youtube

That is strange the car explosion was cut because its pivotal to the plot. But the way they chop up sitcoms for more commercials is really sad. MeTv used to show all the cut tag scenes and scenes mostly cut in syndication. But it appears they are now cutting scenes like the other channels. They used to show almost full Brady Bunch episodes but I noticed over the years they started cutting more and more.
I also have All In The Family on DVD and those tag scenes were always funny which they never ever show in syndication.
BTW, Archie is branded is one of my all time favorite episodes. Its season 3? They hit their high mark that season. Every episode is pure gold. I also love The Hot Watch which was on this past Sunday night.

Interesting Post; thanks! The old shows that ran 25 minutes (until Seinfeld"changed all this) are now 21mins. Sad indeed! BUT on Me-TV Leave it to Beaver has no edits/cuts currently and for many years. In the 70's at least the Producers did their own syndication editing. What's interesting is seeing The Mary Tyler Moore now in its full length too. These are the original shows from its first-run on CBS!

Thanks a lot I just saved the amazon page. I see they run 20 to 30. Now I can toss the other 2 laptops in the trash. I was holding on to one because it still worked and had the dvd player, But now that I see I can get this it makes that laptop useless because I replaced with a new one

If you have a lot of newer DVDs make sure and get a drive that is Blu-ray compatible.

Did you see it on METV or Catchy Comedy? I’m watching Cousin Maude’s Visit on ME, and there are scenes there that were cut on Catchy (the sitcoms on Catchy are 22 minutes, ME’s runtimes are 23). The line about feeding off of his own fat and the cream of wheat with cheese were cut on Catchy but were there tonight on ME. Just curious.

I thought Metv and Catchy had the same cuts since they are both digital TV channels. Normally Only a cable channel would have different edits

They usually do but I timed Catchy and ME and Catchy episodes run 22 minutes while ME runs 23.

I remember that episode.. It was a fight right??

And Archie thought fighting was the only way and at the end you hear an explosion and archie said "They blew him up in his car"

They didnt ever show the explosion did they??
