This clip was recently uploaded from The Today Show. Its the actual clip filmed about blowing up Walnut Grove. Many stories circulated why it was done. Landon was upset with NBC about not informing him of the cancellation properly, he did not want the structures to be used in other films, and the lease stated the land must be returned to its original condition. Even without the lease clause, Landon stated he would have done it anyway. All of these reasons make sense

In interviews, I think the former cast members have mentioned in recent years that the land had to be returned to its former state. But the Michael Landon aspect is either something I hadn't heard -- or forgot about. |

I thought it was some type of special effect to make it look like they did that,I didnt realise they actualy did! I cried during that episode.......... |

The cast did not get to see it actually happen. They had to pretend to watch the town blowing up and it was already blown up which was really hard to do.
