Jim shot Artie on a number of occasions but except in "The Night of the Death Masks" where they shot each other for real it was always with blanks or Artie wearing a bullet proof vest. On that occasion Artie also shot Jim and was afraid he'd killed him. Twice in the first season Jim shot Artie, in "The Night of the Fatal Trap," when Artie was dressed as Mojave Mike, and in "The Night of the Murderous Spring," when Dr. Loveless caused Jim to hallucinate. In Season 2, "The Night of the Skulls," Jim shot Artie when Artie was in hunting pink and Jim had to appear to be a killer to get into an assassin's club. Artie picked a fight with Jim and was killed by someone else in "The Night of the Lord of Limbo," but he was another person in an alternate dimension and came back to life when Jim brought him into their dimension. Also in Season 2, in "The Night of the Cadre," Jim, in the guise of a prisoner, shot Artie, in the guise of his guard. Again in Season 2, "The Night of the Bogus Bandits," Artie was shot by a woman criminal accomplice and appeared for a time to have died. In Season 3, "The Night Dr. Loveless Died," he was again shot by a woman and played dead until some random guy who seemed to be working with Jim and Artie came along and helped him. I have watched this a couple of times and not figured out where that guy materialized from. Perhaps there was a scene left out of the version I saw. In Season 3, "The Night of the Legion of Death," Jim shot Artie with a sedative to mimic death to save him from being hanged, and revived him with an injection. In "The Night of the Pistoleros," Artie was thought to be assassinated but it turned out to be a trick on the part of the bad guys--Jim was fooled and so for a time maybe was the audience. That's at least nine death scenes for him, which I think is all.
