Hmm. Sounds like a possibility. They would need access to Hollywood and aerospace to make it possible. Downey provides both. Plus, it had the Carpenters.

On a school day off, Ernie was riding his bike in Beverly Hills, and eventually fell into Zsa Zsa's pool. Would that be anywhere near Downey?

There were a few mentions/signs of specific southern CA cities I can think of.

Charley makes a big deal about a long-distance phone call to San Luis Obispo, which is about 200 miles from Downey. So that checks out.

In an early Season 8 episode we see this bus, when Katie & Rob are firming up their marriage intentions. Note the sign, "35 Reseda":

It's likely I guess that the producers simply filmed an area bus without regard to someone analyzing its significance (and certainly not decades later). Anyway, we seem to be in the right general area.

Also, Glendale, seen on that map, is where Katie's immediate family (grandma) resides (about half the distance shown). That's where we had the "inspection" of the groom...! (Some of my favorite episodes of the series!)

I live out here in Southern California/ LA area. To me it seems like they might have lived in Pasadena . It's kind of an old traditional kind of town as far as So Cal goes. Near LA , but more small town / family community type of place But IDK?

Pasadena really isn't a bike ride away from where Zsa Zsa would live in Beverly Hills or a rich area on the west side, but you could take a bus from Pasadena headed for Reseda .

The house number is 6272, I think. The episode (season 11) where Dodie and her annoying liar friend take a bus trip might somehow give the full address. The other episode that might give clues is the one where Steve takes the triplets to work with him, and loses them, also season 11. I'll check sometime.
