Fred had so many memorable quotes. I think my favorite was the one where Fred and Lamont had to fly somewhere because somebody had left something for them in a will. You know how Fred is about flying. I can't remember the exact quote but this is pretty close...
What the hell you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a man have a heart attack before? That whole episode was one giant laugh riot! |

NOT WORTH TAPING??!? C'mon, the earlier episodes with just Fred and Lamont are the best. You get to see the dysfunctional father-son dynamic in its raw, unrefined form...and belive me, that will give you a whole new appreciation for the later, more populous and popular episodes with Grady, Bubba, Rollo and Aunt Esther. (Besides, the scene where Fred discovers that all his late uncle left him was his delinquent bills is priceless...he wails to Elizabeth, "Honey, if you see a man with a peanut-shaped head, with a puddle of water in the middle of it, whatever you do, DON'T LET HIM IN!!")

I guess I just Don't find too many of the episodes with Fred and Lamont to entertaining. It is one with Just fred and lamont-is when they have a lot of bills and the bill collector waits outside in the junkyard until they open the door. But i just think without Rollo and Aunt Esther for Fred to play off of, the show wouldn't have been as good. |

I enjoyed the whole episode. It's one of my personal faves. Also loved the look on Lamont's face when Fred brought out those chicken wings. lol I can see what Solomon is saying in a way. Some people don't like the episodes that only have Fred and Lamont in it (I enjoy them all), but the episodes did center around the 'hit' or 'miss'. Of course we had many hits that had just Fred and Lamont in it, and we have the hits that had more characters in it. Then we have the 'misses' that only had Fred and Lamont in it that weren't very good or episodes that had that interaction factor and it still wasn't a very good episode. Take 'All in the Family' for example. You have one hilarious show if it had Archie, Edith, Gloria, and Mike in it. Some of the episodes that only had Mike and Gloria in it aren't that great imo. I remember one episode (I think they were trying to do a spinoff with two of Mike and Gloria's friends) the episode had Mike, Gloria, Billy Chrystal's character, and his girlfriend. Awful episode if you ask me. |
