Sad I feel dissed!

Hey guys. I'm totally new to this whole thing, so please be gentle. I've been checking it out for a while now, but never got up the courage to register/post. Anyway, I feel totally dissed that Nancy would not want to be on a Reunion Movie, and that Kim doesn't want to talk about FOL. I haven't seen the Reunion movie, so maybe it was poor writing, but still. I mean, I have been a fan of FOL since it was on the first time. And, I will always think of them as Jo, Blair, Natalie and Tootie. Not that their later work doesn't matter, but that is just the way it is. I know they aren't those characters in real life. I just feel like they (Nancy) is dissing all of her FOL fans. I still think she is an awesome actress and everything, but I'm very disappointed in her over this. Has any of you talked to her and explained it to her? You would think they would feel honored to be remembered so well and kept in such high regard this many years after the show.

Welcome To The Boards!

I'm sure everybody feels the same way, that Nancy didn't show up at the reunion, I would've liked to have to seen her there. I think they just want to move on with their lives, they're not trying to be mean, but I think they just have another life to live, other than
The Facts of Life.

I totally understand that. We all do that. I mean, I'm not the same person I was in High School. But, I still went to the reunion and saw everyone, and let them all see me. The way I am today. Anyway, I just felt like venting. Does Nancy have a website?

I don't believe she was dissing the fans. She is a VERY busy woman. That's why she didn't do it. PLUS... they promised in 88' to never do a reunion movie, so she kept her promise.

Welcome to the boards!

Nancy probably knows in her heart that people still look up to her as Jo, but it would be serious backtracking to go back to Jo. Typecasting can really break careers. I'm sure after FOL ended, Nancy really had to go to bat for some of the roles she wanted. Directors and writers and all those behind the scenes people on movies and tv shows might have taken one look at Nancy and said "Nope. We don't want Jo Polianeczk (damn, I know I spelled that wrong! lol) we want somebody else." That's why so many people take total opposite roles from what they are known as. If you were known as a goody two shoes on one show, you might take a movie where the character is a murderer.

Nancy finally established firm ground away from FOL. If she did go back to the reunion, she might think directors and such might not take her serious again. You never know what she thought. It could've been one of many things.

Anyway, welcome to the boards. As you can see, I have a knack of talking too much. lol

Ya'll, Please don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to diss her or anything. I mean, I'm a fan. And I have been since before some of you were even born. That really makes me sound OLD! I think she's awesome, and I'm sure she has very good/valid reasons for her decision. I'm just disappointed, and I think it is a shame. I'd have like to see Jo again. But, life goes on.

I agree...

Oh yea, real quick...I don't think it would've been back tracking for Nancy to be in the reunion...I mean, she's done SO MANY other things, that are different than Jo, But, I dunno...maybe it's just me...
I also think that, she was back tracking a little by being Jinny in "The Division" I mean...granted, Jinny isn't JO, but, the whole..."rebel" thing is there...I would think she'd wanna play something different. After all, they said that Jinny was originally written as like, this blonde girl, but, Nancy went in and auditioned and they knew she could do it...well no crap she could do it, she did it for NINE FREAKING YEARS! ahem

Anyways...Welcome to the boards!! I'm Lizzie...you've been a fan longer than I've been alive.

JMO...
