Default Ralph Kramden, a NY NHL fan (Part 1)

(The Carolina Hurricanes beat the NJ Devils 4-1.)

(Ralph is going to bed all depressed. He sits on the bed with Alice.)

Ralph: “I’m telling you Alice. It’s bad enough that we had to spend Easter at your mother’s but with the Devils losing to Carolina and her rubbing it in my face, that was too much.”

Alice: “Ralph, let it go. It wasn’t meant to be.”

Ralph: “I will not let it go Alice. After the other two NY area NHL teams failed to make the playoffs, we need the Devils to win it all.”

Alice: “Ralph, won’t you please go to sleep and turn off the lights?”

Ralph: “Ok.”

(He turns off he lights and lays down. Seconds later, he gets up.)

Ralph (yells): “WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE DEVILS?”

(Noise is heard from upstairs. Ralph goes to the window and sticks his head out.)

Ralph (yells): “BE QUIET UP THERE.”

Man (from upstairs, yells): “YOU ARE THE ONE MAKING THE NOISE.”

(Ed comes in.)

Ed: “Whaddaya say there Ralph and Alice? Hey Ralph, the Devils lost. Look at the bright side, the Devils are only down by one game. Think of yesterday when the odds were even and the Devils had a 50 percent chance of winning instead of lower odds. You got to smile, smile.”

Ralph (yells): “GET OUT! GET OUT!”

(Ed leaves.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: “Thank you. The Miami Beach crowds are the BEST! Good night!”

(Crowd cheers,)

Ralph Kramden, a NY NHL fan? (Part 2) (The Carolina Hurricanes beat the NJ Devils 3-1.)

(The boys come in the Kramden apartment all upset.)

Ralph: “I’m telling you Norton. The Devils were cheated. That second goal was not only overturned during the last minute byt Carolina had the GALL to score another goal.”

Ed: “All of those players are beasts.”

Ralph: “They will pay when they come to our area and we get our revenge. I don’t get mad. I get even.”

Ed: “All the people in this building besides me beg to differ.”

Ralph: “When we do advance, I hope we play Montreal. I’m SICK of playing those Capitals.”

Ed: “I’m voting for the Capitals because I feel it’s un American to vote for a foreign team to beat an American team.”

Ralph (yells): “WHAT? YOU ARE VOTING FOR THE CAPS? GET OUT! GET OUT! GEEEEEEEEEET OUT!”

(Ed leaves.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: “Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!”

(Crowd cheers.)

Ralph Kramden, a NY NHL fan? (Part 3) (The NJ Devils beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2.)

(Ralph & Ed are in the pool hall.)

Ralph: “That was a great game we watched last night.”

Ed: “Now the Devils have a chance to win the series.”

Ralph: “Let’s hope they do. I have a feeling that they will play like they never played before.”

Ed: “So do I.”

Ralph: “I just want to see the look on that Joe Fenstablau’s face when he sees the Devils win this series. I bet he would be so mad.”

Ed: “Here’s to that poor misguided soul Joe Fenstablau.”

Ralph: “May I echo those words?”

Ed: “You certainly may. Also, remember when we played street hockey and you hit the puck hard? You hit that puck into that cop car and you had to pay…”

Ralph (yells): “ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT!”

Ed: “The most powerful puck shot of all time.”

Ralph: “Oh boy. I should’ve been the goalie. Nothing would get past me.”

Ed: “That’s true since you are bigger than the goal itself.”

Ralph (yells): “GET OUT! GET OUT! GEEEEEEEET OUT!”

(Ed leaves.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: “Thanks. The Miami Beach crowds are the BEST! GOOD NIGHT!”

(Crowd cheers.)

Ralph Kramden, a NY NHL fan? (Part 4) (The Carolina Hurricanes beat the NJ Devils 5-2.)

(Ralph is upset in the bus company locker room. Ed comes in,)

Ralph: “Whaddaya say Ralph?”

Ralph: “Those Devils really blew it. They now have to win the next three games to advance. Hmmph!”

Ed: “I know what you mean. Those Devils are at a real disadvantage.”

Ralph: “I am hoping for a miracle.”

Ed: “I think a miracle will happen Ralph.”

Ralph: “What makes you say that?”

Ed: “We have seen bigger and better miracles in life.”

Ralph: “You know we have.”

(Ralph smiles,)

Ed: “I have seen bigger miracles happen the Boston Red Sox beating the NY Yankees in the 2004 ALCS after being down by three games and them WINNING the 2004 World Series. You got to believe. BELIVE. BELIVE.”

Ralph (yells): “GET OUT! GEEEEEEET OUT! GEEEEEEEEEET OUT!”

(Ed leaves.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: “Thanks. The Miami Beach crowds are the BEST! GOOD NIGHT!”

(Crowd cheers.)

Ralph Kramden, a NY NHL fan? (Part 5) (The Carolina Hurricanes win the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, 4 games to 1 by beating the NJ Devils 5-4.)

(Ralph & Ed meet at Ed’s manhole for lunch.)

Ralph: “What a bad game last night Norton.”

Ed: “The Devils lost.”

Ralph: “Now they have to focus on the next season.”

Ed: “You can say that again Ralph.”

Ralph: “I wonder what those other teams are thinking.”

Ed: “They are thinking that they will win the Cup.”

Ralph: “Sadly one will.”

Ed: “And the rest will lose. I wanted to see the Devils play the Panthers and play near the best fans in the world, the Miami Beach fans.”

(Crowd cheers.)

Ralph: “Now the Devils will have egg on their face and the all of us fans.”

Ed: “You are used to having egg on your face Ralph.”

Ralph (yells): “OK NORTON! LETS GO! PUT ‘EM UP!”

(Ralph chases after Ed.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
