This isn't a petition I wrote, but I thought I would just help to spread the word about this petition. I, for one, am for embryonic stem cell research because it could be a potential cure for spinal cord injuries, AIDS, Alzheimers, Parkinsons' and many others. I know this is a controversial issue with regards to abortion although, it is not the fetuses that are used, but the zygotes that are used, so in a way, you aren't actually killing a child against its' will, but just taking the zygotes at the earliest stages before anything starts to be created.

I doubt you'll get much response on this board, Plata, but the issue is what is know as a "red herring". Which means that the argument against stem cell research is bogus. We need it, it's harmless, I hope it happens at full tilt boogey and I wish the BS atists (The money grubbing lobbyists of the Christian Right) would be uncovered and put to rest. If that were to happen lots of people would have a better life - walking, not being sick, family members celebrating their good fortune, ETC.
