In seasons 11 and 12 Jodie Foster played one of Dodie's friends. In season 11 the character was named Susan. In season 12 the character's name was Priscilla. I know this is a long shot but does anyone know why they changed her name?

According to IMDb in season 11 she also played a character Victoria, in another episode.
My guess is casting needed a kid character actor for 2 season 11 episodes. So they got her and that was the way each episode was written. In season 12 she may have been recurring since she was in four episodes. |

That's another odd thing. In S11.E15, the other actors call Jodie's character Susan but the end credits say she played Victoria. There was no Victoria in that episode but that is the real name of the girl that played Margaret.

Without re-watching it I think the sorta chubby girl is Margaret. This is a kid who calls Dodie during dinner and she takes the call in the kitchen--this is Margaret, I think. The girl with Margaret is Susan (Jodie Foster) in the episode, as you noted. So it seems whoever did the credits got the name wrong.
Margaret (Victoria Meyerink) is in six other episodes from seasons 11 and 12, but plays Beatrice in a season 10 episode, a kid who has a crush on Ernie. I guess shows do this stuff. Howard Sprague (played by Jack Dodson), a regular on The Andy Griffith Show, started as a one shot named Ed Jenkins. |

Oh, I think I just watched this. Its the one where the cute guy is a teacher, and the girls went nuts over him. I thought they were a little young, but I was six when I fell for Pete Duel.

Yes, that's the episode. And the guy was one of Barbara's students. Dodie is heartbroken when he brings his fiancé to dinner.

I have to say I never noticed Jodie on M3S. As far as her childhood roles, she had more prominent appearances on The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1969, '70, '71).

Also, it's been a while since I've seen the Courtship... series, and I don't remember her in that either. Is her brother Buddy Foster? He was in Mayberry RFD. |

Yes, Buddy is her brother, and she was on at least one episode of Mayberry RFD.
