I have never figured out how the movie Cry-Baby became a hit but my mom and I had to buy it and see it because my mom LOVED Johnny Depp. And when I watched Cry-Baby I saw that it was a ripoff of Grease and Johnny Depp's character was a ripoff of The Fonz. I cannot figure out how Cry-Baby became a box-office hit in 1990. I guess they wanted to cash in on Johnny Depp's success as a movie actor considering he was also on 21 Jump Street at the time. But the soundtrack to Cry-Baby had some awesome songs on it. Was Cry-Baby Johnny Depp's most successful comedy?
