Has NASCAR lost its audience and appeal now?

I remember a time when NASCAR was one of the hottest sports to watch and everyone watched NASCAR races on TV every weekend. But I've noticed that today NASCAR has seemed to have lost it's audience and appeal these days and I would like to know the reason for NASCAR's downfall? Is it because NASCAR wants to keep surviving to bring new generations of fans or has people shown other interests in other sports such as NHL Hockey NBA Basketball Major League Baseball? I think when NASCAR started to go downhill was when Dale Earnhardt died in 2000 and when that happened it hurt NASCAR fans a lot and that's when NASCAR racing started having low ratings on TV. But back in the 80's and 90's NASCAR was big because you could watch NASCAR racing superstars such as Rusty Wallace Ernie Ivan Davey Allison Darrell Waltrip Dale Jarrett Jeff Gordon and Bill Elliott make their marks in racing. But since the deaths of some drivers and retirements of Jeff Gordon and Darrell Waltrip NASCAR has since lost it's appeal and I can tell you that in a few decades NASCAR will go bankrupt because I think people don't really watch racing on TV that much anymore. And the one thing that could save NASCAR is attracting more new fans to the sport

I also what really caused NASCAR to lose it's appeal is that so many channels don't really air NASCAR races and now you see them on streaming services like Amazon Prime and others. And I remember when almost every TV station aired NASCAR racing every Saturday on either CBS TNN TBS or FX but now it seems like FOX is the only station to carry NASCAR racing now. And what I can tell you is that just like the Super Bowl NASCAR will have a new exclusive home on Tubi in the future. But I can't figure why NASCAR fans like to treat the Daytona 500 every year as a big event like the Super Bowl? And I think that this race is the only NASCAR race that scores big ratings every year. But I think NASCAR will have plans to launch a spin-off series of NASCAR that will attract more fans and get big ratings in TV in the future

I think when NASCAR started to lose it's appeal fans no longer watched because when you get the general picture I think other motorsports began to become more popular such as Indy Car racing and NHRA Drag racing NASCAR was starting to wane in popularity but as I mentioned in my opening post the death of Dale Earnhardt was to blame for NASCAR losing appeal and once Dale died NASCAR lost fans. But in my eyes what has caused NASCAR to lose it's audience and appeal was when they created so many spinoff series such as NASCAR Super Trucks series NASCAR Grand National series and once they created those two series NASCAR was making money but it was hurting fans a lot and ticket sales slowed down. But I think if NASCAR improved itself they could gain their appeal and audience back

I think NASCAR wants to attract an older fanbase and since most people are streaming nowadays NASCAR races might become exclusive to streaming services such as Amazon and Netflix. But I think in a couple decades NASCAR will be sold and whoever will buy it will rename NASCAR something else. Because I also think that once Sprint bought NASCAR NASCAR lost it's appeal and not many people watched NASCAR racing a lot but when NASCAR was good it was in the 90's but once Dale Earnhardt passed away NASCAR went downhill in the 2000's

I also think what caused NASCAR to really go downhill was ticket sales and it seemed that when there was a holiday such as Father's Day or 4th Of July NASCAR would sell a lot of tickets but then NASCAR races in person nowadays have fallen in the same category as music concerts and when this happened people began watching the races on TV. I also think NASCAR went downhill when they began treating races like Super Bowls with preshows and they began having R&B singers like Usher perform The National Anthem and this caused NASCAR to lose fans who felt this new style of NASCAR racing. If NASCAR would return to it's formula it once had they would gain their old fans back again
