Red face New Info on TVLAND

Hi All! I just read an article in the New York Post which claims that TVLand and Nickelodeon are going to segregate shows according to time periods. TVland will carry the older shows like Mary Tyler Moore which starts on June 4 .. Nickelodeon will carry shows from the late 1970s and the 1980s. I don't know what this means for Chico. Maybe it will switch channels? As long as they run it somewhere I'm happy!

Chico and the Man and Mary Tyler Moore are from the same era so I think they are both safe on TV Land. I think its The Love Boat which starts on June 4th.

They have to stay on TVLAND or I won't get to see it anymore. Our satellit dish which is an old C-BAND big dish only gets the free channels & can't get the paid ones cuz we can't find a descramber for it. So I can't get NICKELODEON but can get TVLAND. SO we have to hope it stays on TVLAND.

I think I read somewhere awhile back that NICK wanted to switch to more newer type shows that weren't on the air anymore & let TVLAND have the really old shows. TVLAND please don't move CHICO to NICK!

I think CATM is gonna be safe for some time now on TVLand. With shows like the Love Boat on Nick does that mean there not gonna have that NickJr anymore?

YES Love American style Loved that show....bring it back...also the ghost and mrd muir....Another dhowI have missed greatly. Yaknow there isn't much I like on TV anymore the newer stuff kinda rots. The only shows I watch regularly are the sopranos, er friends reruns and suddenly susan reruns. That's pretty much it. Oh and Mad TV...Sat nite live stinks I'll only watch if there's a good musical guest,,,

Maybe Chico isn't getting a good slot because they have limited rights to it, since it is a WB Show from their vault.

I think nick is going to more 80s stuff, like Different Strokes, Facts of Life, etc. They are also getting rights to Full House and Fresh Prince in 2003 (I think that's the year). Chico and Full House don't exactly blend in my opinion!

Speaking of Full House - has anyone ever checked out their message board? They have the biggest fan club out there. I think CATM follows in 2nd place. GOOD WORK FREDDIE FANS!

Found this info on the TVLAND message boards on AOL:

TV Land will add a "West Coast Feed" on June 1, 2001. The result is that a show that airs at 9 p.m. on the east coast (eastern time zone) will also air at 9 p.m. on the west coast (pacific time zone). Shows will air one hour "earlier" in the central time zone (i.e. 9 p.m. eastern shows will air at 8 p.m. central). The time a show airs in the mountain time zone will
depend on which feed (east or west) that a particular satellite or cable provider chooses to select.

I assume it means the West Coast will be watching Chico At 5 am with us East Coasters...

Sad

Yeah, I read that too. Unfortunately, it won't mean a thing for us in the central time zone. New York gets it at 5am, we still get it at 4. Still no good.

Well hopefully CATM will have a new timeslot by the time that "West Coast Feed" takes into effect.

Oh, I really enjoy "Love American Style" too! I haven't seen that in ages! I wish someone would start running episodes of "That Girl". I always enjoyed watching that. We used to get it on channel 26 when I lived in Indiana. I really love the old shows from the 50's,60's and 70's. Also, I wish someone would put "The Monkees" back on the air!

I do hope TV Land will continue airing CATM. Hopefully, they will listen and put CATM in a better time slot by the time the Freddie episodes come back on!

LOVE AMERICAN STYLE & THE MONKEES are good ones to put back on, In fact Davy Jones was once on a coupla episodes of LOVE AMERICAN STYLE. That would've been a good show for Freddie to be on.
