Default I've got a question for Pavanbadal

Pavandbal,

You are so great at reporting all the upcoming news on some channels and this is a bit off topic for the General board, but I'm not sure if you post on the Drama board where this post might go. I decided to put it here, so you would see it. Anyway, I've been getting into Star Trek on the Scifi channel, but I see after Nov. 13th or so they'll stop showing the tv show. Are they dropping it for good? I'm talking about the 60s ST. Thanks.

Really? That stinks. I love Star Trek on Sci fi.

I know that eventually the original Star Trek seires will be going to TNN, as will the other Star Trek Spin offs.

Maybe the liscence agreement with Sci Fi channel has expired.

Aw, who amI kidding, Pavandbal is the rel expet in these things...

I am not sure if they are losing rights. It could be on hiatus, BUT there seems to be an all-day marathon on November 11th, maybe a farewell marathon? No idea, but I am guessing they lost rights after Nov 13 or so.

Thanks for the info Pav. I'm starting to think I'm a jinx to some shows because it seems I always get into a show and then they yank it off the schedule before I can record it.

Don't you just hate it when that happens?

Oh yeah, it drives me insane. If Scifi does drop it, where would it go? I don't have any other science fiction channels it could go to. I wished Scifi would go back to how it used to be. You remember all the classic shows they had on that station and now they are airing more original programming. They should really think about investing in a Classic channel.

Please, I need to ask another question. I may be a total ditz for not knowing this...but here goes. Okay, you know that John Edwards thing on Scifi. How is that even classified into science fiction. If he can speak with the dead, that is quite a talent and a gift. I don't really classify it as Science or Science Fiction.

I agree, 100%. The only true classic on that network is Dark Shadows (that is, if Star Trek is definitely leaving). The last actual classic show they aired was Wonder Woman, and that was in 2001.

According to Sci-Fi.com's schedule, Star Trek returns December 16th. The odd thing about their schedule is that when I searched both Star Trek and Dark Shadows, there are no listings from November 25th - up till December 16th. Odd. The odd thing about it is that it lists December 16th - 20th (with no episode numbers/titles).

This has got to be the ODDEST thing. Sci-Fi is preempting it's ENTIRE schedule for movies from the dates I listed in my last post. Except of course for John Edward and The X-Files.
