How was the Basic Training challenge made on Nickelodeon Guts?

When I see reruns of Nickelodeon Guts on Paramount+ I often wondered how they made the Basic Training challenge during each show? According to Mike O'Malley it's actually the same as what soldiers do as they train for the military. From what I have seen of the training course it has an aerial bridge a tightrope walk like you see in the circus a Tarzan rope swing a walk through with colored strings and a tire crawl but something I can never figure out every time i've seen Nickelodeon Guts is that each contestant falls onto a mattress and I wonder if that's an actual air mattress that they use as a freefall mat because it's similar to an air mattress that you sleep on when you go camping. Also did any contestants get any injuries from doing the Basic Training challenge on Nickelodeon Guts?
