Huge bounce back (8.2/10) from a very weak season 4 (4/10). Bob's character, frailties, emotions, likes and dislikes are brilliantly manipulated to blend with the brilliant cast. I rated 12 of the 24 episodes as 10/10. Season 6 I'm not too enthusiastic going into it.

Yeah, about the only ones I'm not too fond of in that season are 5.7. Send This Boy to Camp, 18. The Heartbreak Kid, and 20. Taxation without Celebration.
Newhart was notoriously opposed to kids on his shows, but had Moosie Drier on as Little Howie 5 of the 6 seasons. The one season he wasn't included, they still did a kid show, Send This Boy to Camp, so I've wondered if there wasn't some sort of policy to do one kid show per year. |

Powers at be made some good S5 decisions. Like toning down the Peepers getting tiresome act to make him more of a regular person. Bob is successfully reconstructed to almost be a completely different person each episode.
Hilarious E23 Shrinking Violence IMDb 6.9 is a head scratcher. E24 You're Having My Hartley was interesting being the original "it's a dream". I noticed Suzanne Pleshette's voice is getting lower and lower. Negligee scenes are amazing. " |
