Sad Read This.... It Is Very Sad

Blast kills homeowner. This is news from where I live. One minute a house stood on its foundation, the next a blast so powerful the house was gone. The explosion happened Tuesday Night. 48 year old Arthur Lewis died. He smelled something like rootted eggs. He went to call his wife at work and tell her about the smell. He told his wife that he was going to the basement to check it out. When he went to the basement and turned on the light the house exploded. He was alive when the firemen got to the scene. He kept asking for help. But he died before they could get to him. This is very sad.

Sad re: sad story

Reminds me of a story that happened a few years ago across the
Puget Sound from Seattle in Bremerton (or was it Bainbridge Island, etc.) where residents in these waterfront homes were warned to evacuate due to heavy rainfall threatening houses with collapsing and landslides. One person who had just finished repairs on a new 2-story house had been given a moderate warning (not a severe one--authorities believed he was not in great danger)--and the house--with he and his wife and newborn
child were swept away to their deaths when the house collapsed in a mudslide when the ground at the top of the hill they lived on
gave way due to the heavy rains. They showed pictures of their family albums and pieces of their lives in the paper after that and it made me feel sad... You think of these people and wonder what their lives were like...and why did they have to die so horribly and so needlessly...such lives just beginning...

That's horrible! A house that was being fumigated under one of those tents exploded in LA awhile back and I saw the coverage on KTLA. Neighbors for miles were injured and their houses damaged.

Wonder why turning on a light sparked an explosion? A match I understand, but electricity?
