Angry their friends always pick on them!

something about Leave it to Beaver that always get me and my husband angry is how the boys on there are always afraid to do things for fear that the guys will give them the "business" as they say. it bugs me and my husband to no end!! we both think it's terrible how Beav and Wally's own friends turn on them sometimes and will treat them bad and then on the next episode they will be nice to them. does this bug anyone else?! i guess since we have two children of our own we just worry about them later on at that age. lol!

That's the way kids are though. Peer acceptance is so important to them, and kids are cruel. Of course its exaggerated a bit on the show, but its just a part of childhood.

I think it's pretty "crummy" how Gilbert and Richard seems to be the ones
who set Beaver up for the fall. Larry on the other hand is usually not that
creative. In regards to Wally, it seems only on occasions that Eddie
gets Wally into predicaments. Eddie is more careful about setting Wally up
because he knows that Wally will "clobber" him. The one episode where Eddie
induces Wally to trade dates and Wally finds out that this girl is a giant. When
Wally confronts Eddie in Wally's room, we see Wally actually raising a fist
ready to punch when June enter's the boys room.

Our twins are now fifteen years old.
Talk about peer pressure!
The other evening I took them shopping with one of their buddies at the mall.
My oldest twin had chosen a sweatshirt thingy that he really wanted to get at American Eagle Outfitters.
He asked his brother and the buddy if they thought he would look good in it, and they both said, "Nah, it's not for you".
It made me sad to see my little dude's face kinda fall, cause I know HE really liked the shirt.
I asked him later and he said, "Well I can't wear it if the guys think I would look ridiculous!"
The same thing happened that evening with the OTHER twin who chose a sweater almost identical to the buddy's sweater.
His buddy said "Nah, it's not for you".
I just wish they would wear things that THEY like to wear and not worry so much about what their friends think.
I guess peer pressure hasn't changed much since all those years ago back when Beaver and I were the same age.
LOL
