ABC this season is trying to recapture the success it had in the late '80s and early '90s with shows like "Roseanne." It seems only natural, then, that the network would welcome back the show's star.
The network has ordered 13 episodes of a hybrid reality series starring Roseanne, the Los Angeles Times reports. The concept is to show her making a "show within a show." "If, for instance, this were the show of a cooking show, Roseanne would exist as the host of that show," says R.J. Cutler ("American High"), who's executive producing the project with Roseanne. There's also a chance that ABC would air the final product the original show documents. The new series is tentatively set for summer 2003. "Roseanne" aired on ABC from 1988-97, where it finished in the Nielsen top 20 in every season but its last. The show won four Emmys, one for Roseanne and three for co-star Laurie Metcalf. |

She already had the show(notice the post date, 2002) and the show was cancelled because of Roseanne's surgery. Roseanne is done with TV she says.
