Cliff and Clair-Why do you guys always celebrate when it is the first day of school, as if you want your kids out of the house.

Clair:Why can't you stay home where you belong and raise the kids? Cliff makes enough money.

Part 1 -- Because that was part of the humor of the show -- If Denise was near 20 when Rudy was born, that means they'll have kids in the house for 30+ years. That would suck.

Part 2 -- What, are you that big of an idiot?? They had FIVE kids. Plus, why shouldn't she get a job. Let's see what you do with five kids and one income.
