More, More, More! I'd love to see it. It's one issue I'd let my hubby keep if he had it.

Hey Tracy,
What did you think of the article? Aren't there some quotes from a prior interview he gave? I remember the quotes being really raw, not at all like Freddie ... But remember, he was just 21 or 22 maybe younger when he gave the interview... |

I read a Rolling Stone interview with Freddie when he was just 19. Freddie tended to be very different from Chico when he interviewed. I'm sure we'd all love to think he was as sweet, naive etc. as Chico but he obviously wasn't.
He was raw in his language and derogatory sometimes. I liken him to Eddie Murphy when he first started out. He was also 19. I'm sure talking to Playboy and Playgirl, he wanted to appear tough and hip. Remember, he also worshipped Lenny Bruce who made his name with profanity and hard'edged dialogue. The real Freddie was probably a combination! |

Speaking of Lenny Bruce, does anyone know anything at all about Freddie's relationship with Lenny's daughter. What did she look like, where they very serious, what happened to their relationship, etc.

thanks chica, i can't wait to get my hands on the playgirl article.
thanks croiter, everything you said is 100% correct about the playboy article. to catcopy, E! true hollywood just did the story on Lenny Bruce maybe 'bout a week ago. I did post it on here that it was coming on. i taped it but i have not watched it yet. i am not sure if freddie and kitty's relationship was serious or not. maybe E! true hollywood mentioned them when they featured freddie's story. to cheryl, do you have an e-mail????? |

Yep, I have an e-mail. It's cherylharrell@yahoo.nospam.com Remove the nospam to write as that is a spam blocker. I didn't list the e-mail on my profile just in case of spammers. I had to set the the AOL E-mail addy up where only certain folks could post to it cuz I got sooo much spam. Yuck!
My hubby said he thinks he recalls seeing that PLAYBOY & used to have it but sold it. Gee he sells the good issues & keeps the bad ones. LOL! |

I found out something really neat! I read ont he internet that one of Chico-Freddie's last performances was at President Carters inaugeration. This was a big wow cuz my friend Arlo the singer got invited to Carters inaugeration & went to it. He tells this neat story of how Chip Carter tapped him on the shoulder & told him there was a record of his in the White House left over from the Nixton administration. I have a pic of Arlo from the Carter Inaugeration where h's wearing a 3 piece suit with a tie & is with his wife.
![]() Since Arlo was there same time as Freddie & has met & worked with someother famnouse stars I am wondering if he knew Freddie or had met him? I would LOVE to know. I want to ask him but there is one problem. If I start asking him about Freddie he'll want to know why & may suspect I'm starting to get into Chico-Freddie. If he finds out I'm starting to get into Chico-Freddie he's liable to get kinda jealous & feel hurt LOL! One time we told him that I am a big Monkees & he acted so hurt & looked like he was hurt & kinda jealous. He had this hurt look on his face. He knows I love him bestest & I think that's why he hurt so easily over it. I had to explain to him that I have been a Monkees fan for yrs before I ever knew him. Once I said that he wasn't as hurt. But if he finds out I'm discovering someone else after him he's gonna be sooo crushed. He forgets I love him bestest & am totally devoted to him & practically worship the ground he walks on LOL! My hubby & I have asked him a few things about meeting stars & singing with them like asking him about the Monkees since I'm a big fan of theirs & about singing with Johnny Cash & Bob Dylan since my hubby loves them. But I haven't asked him too much abotu what stars he's met or sung with or who they are or what it's like being a famous star cuz I'm afraid he'll get the wrong idea & think I like him just cuz he's a star & I don't want him to think that. I lvoe him for himself, not cuz he's famous altho if he wasn't famous I'd have never known him. Sadly he hasn't booked any shows anywhere near VA anytime for this yr. The only shows anywhere near VA is he is doing a show near Philly In Nov & we're going with a friend of his who lives 3 hrs north of us. We went with her to his show there last Nov & had a blast! He is coming to Ocean City, NJ in August & if his friend goes & we can hitch a ride with her we'll go. So I have until Aug tofigure out how to ask him about Freddie without arousing his suspicions. If he was a lady I wouldn't have this problem LOL!

Freddie told a joke at the inagural that went like this:
Now that we have a new administration and a great new man as president, I think it's time to have a Puerto Rican astronaut. You know why we never had a Puerto Rican astronaut? Because they were afraid that all the way to the moon we'd blow the horn, play the radio. Stick our head out the window, "Hey honey! Sweetheart! Hello mama!" |
