Post American Dreams Was Ordered For A Full Season!!

NBC MAKES DRAMATIC STATEMENT ON SUNDAYS WITH FULL BACK-ORDERS FOR FRESHMAN DRAMAS

BURBANK, Calif. -- October 21, 2002 -- NBC has ordered nine additional episodes of both of its critically acclaimed Sunday-night freshman dramas -- “American Dreams” (8-9 p.m. ET) and “Boomtown” (10-11 p.m. ET) - it was announced today by Jeff Zucker, President, NBC Entertainment.

“We’ve been thrilled with the quality and the performance of both of these new series,” said Zucker. “’American Dreams’ and ‘Boomtown,’ along with ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent,’ have finally put us on the map on Sundays. They represent the gold standard of what we hope for in a quality drama.”

With "American Dreams" and "Boomtown" delivering big ratings this fall, NBC currently boasts the No. 1 regular lineup on Sunday night among adults 18-49 and total viewers for the season, after running third by both measures at this point last year.

"American Dreams" is averaging a 4.4 rating, 11 share among adult 18-49 and 12.0 million viewers overall this fall and has won its hour among adults 18-49 with three of its four regular telecasts to date. "American Dreams" is averaging a powerful 20 percent build from its first half-hour to its second in the 18-49 category.

"Boomtown," dubbed the season’s top new drama by such publications as USA Today, TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly, is averaging a 4.3/10 among adults 18-49 and 11.4 million viewers overall, giving NBC improvements of 8 percent among adults 18-49 and 15 percent in total viewers versus year-ago results in the time period.

“American Dreams” is from NBC Studios and Universal Television. Dick Clark and Jonathan Prince are the executive producers.

“Boomtown” is from NBC Studios and DreamWorks Television. Graham Yost and Jon Avnet are executive producers.

Default to Fridays

With the death of Providence on Fridays.I'm thinking NBC may very well move this show to Fridays to replace it in January. Consider that both Third Watch and Ed,started their lifes on Sundays at 8 and ended up moving to other nights before they finished their first seasons.I wouldn't be surprised if it happens at all.

I really hope that does not happen! Fridays are the worst day of television pretty much... =(

I'm with you, but it's pretty possible. I do have a feeling American Dreams may be making a move... but I hope not, it's great on Sundays.

I like this show a lot! LOL! It's good, and they might show a DOOL commercial every once in a while. LOL!

I would like to see more of American Dreams. I'm sure NBC put a lot of money into advertising for the show.
