Given that Alice was about a waitress trying to make it as a singer and there were episodes featuring Alice singing what actress could have done the role other than Linda Lavin?

I personally think Nancy Dussault (Muriel Rush on Too Close for Comfort) could have done the role. She is funny and a dynamic singer. Sings far better than Linda Lavin and is funnier.

Linda Lavin is mulitalanted busy actress than Nancy Dusssault. I dont like Nancy Dussault at all. Linda Lavin played better as "Alice"
and she does have good singing voice. Dont talked who is better actress & director on "Alice" okay. Linda Lavin is alway be my favorite actress Remember Linda is director producers on tv show and movies. .
