Question Is It Just Me, Or is "Survivor" Not As Popular as Years Before?

What does everyone think? I think it might have...

I think it has gone downhill in the ratings since the second edition of show. Before, it was #1 and now it is like #8. Plus, "Friends" is constantly winning the 8:00pm Thursday night over "Survivor".

I think the ratings started to fall because of Sept. 11th. I think 9/11 brought to everybody's attention that living on an island and eating rats wasn't much of a reality. jmo

It is full of too many people I would find hard to like. They know the formula of Survivor and do what they think is expected of them so they can get as much air time as possible so that when they do come home they can try and expand their fifteen minutes of fame. I hate these reality shows becuz I think they actually have very little reality to them. They are full of aspiring actors/actresses/ models not real people.

My favorite "Survivor" edition is the Australia one. That one I think was the best one yet.

The concept got old quick. Everyone loved the first one cause there was nothing else like it at the time, but after each new show, it became predictable and people weren't into it as they were before. If you see someone eat a rat, it doesn't seem as gross or unusual as before cause it's been done before. Just my thoughts.......

Good point about the hard to like people. I've never even watched Survivor, but I've watched shows like Fear Factor before. There was this one chick on FF that really had a chip on her shoulder and was trying to psych everybody out. Maybe you guys remember her. She kepts saying over and over "I'm gonna psych you OUT!" It kind of made me wish for some true reality and for someone to reach over and slap her across the face. *sigh* It never happened though.

Survivor blows.

A bunch of self-serving, attention hungry jackasses who people watch each week like they are friends of theirs.

Nice to have all that free time to flap around in foreign lands.
Even worse for the public to give a crap.

I don't like any of the seasons. I watched one episode of the 2nd Survivor and it was really hard to get through that episode.

But as for ratings look at them. The 2nd Survivor averaged about 30 million viewers a night. Now they average about 20 million viewers. That is a loss of 10 million viewers.

I still watch it each week, and get into it more. I loved #2 the best, but #1 was good too, because it was the first one..so the people on the ones after that had something to learn from. The only one I didnt watch was Africa *yawn* and the #4 one I didnt get into very much either.....

I agree.

The 2nd was the best ONLY because of Elisabeth (yummy) and Kimi.I didn't even BOTHER watching after that!

My mom said that she likes them in the order that they were the first the most than so on because each time she got less and less into it.

I still really like Survivor. I think Austrailia was my favorite. My this one is #2. it's really good. And unlike most people I really liked Africa. The first one was actually my least favorite.
