Do you think that the jobs the show's creators picked for the girls were the best options? Or, would you have liked to see them do something else.
I think Dorothy should have had a steady job at some point. Like being a "fill-in" teacher for a semester or something. That could have brought some new life to the show. Any thoughts?? |

I like your idea. And I don't think that Blanche should've worked in that dumn museum. She just didn't seem right for that job.

I agree that Dorothy should have had a steady job for awhile, but the whole substitute teacher thing had some good gags going for it. ("Your job isn't to teach. It's just to keep the kids from burning down the school until the other teacher gets back.")
![]() I also don't think the museum job fit Blanche's character. At least it was an art museum and not a history one, that totally wouldn't have fit. I think Rose's job at the grief center was the job that best fit the character, even though she had the highest suicide rate in the office.

not sure if i posted this right or not but i'd like to comment. no, i don't really like how blanche had the job at the museum. i do like how dorothy didn't have a steady job b/c sophia was always making fun of her for that. i think roses job suited her at the grief center. |

Rose's job as a grief counsellor suited her. Another one of her jobs, testing consumer products, also suited her.
I agree that Blanche's job at a museum did not suit her. The episode where she gets Dorothy a job at the museum, is one of my least favourites. At least there weren't too many episodes about Blanches' job. Dorothy's job as a teacher, even a subsitute one, suited her. I found some of Dorothys' best episodes when she tried to help someone. |
