Default FOL.... Live or not live?

I have been trying to figure out for the longest time if FOL was always live. It seems like the same person was laughing from about season 4 to season 9
(if you listen real closely). Did they have an audience and just add in a laugh track, or was it always real people laughing?

You know, I think I once read somewhere that the earlier episodes used an audience, and the later episodes used a laugh track. Of course, that may be wrong, but it might explain hearing the same person for several seasons.

It had to be live the whole time because Greg (Blair's My Cherry Pie) I think once said he went back in '87....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please?

Im guessing maybe they just used them as fillers...or maybe it was a family member? Or a friend?? Or maybe someone from the crew?? Who knows!! Maybe..next time someone visits Lisa (which, from what I see on the boards, is like every other day lol), they could ask!

Well my theory is that they used a real live audience in some eps, and used a laugh track in others. Like in the eps with more scenes, they used laugh tracks, and if they were like just at home and at the store, they used a real audience. I mean wouldn't it be hard to use a real live audience in Tootie Drives? lol

Well, that's easy. There's a car set up and they film everything on the set that the car is set up. Like in Cruisin, a car was puto n a set and the audience could have been in front of it, than when they do little scenes...Like them driving, those are shot at another time and edited into the show. But, I'm sure that in some episodes like 'Tootie Drives' they either used a laugh track or just edited in laughter from another episode...

I'm not sure if someone is going to meet lisa before myself, I'm meeting her November 16th, but I'll ask her for you guys and I'll post than and tell you what she said.
