Question Tootie on Skates

Who would have liked to have seen Tootie where the skates longer? Itd be kinda like the show gimmick. Itd be cool..but once she got to be a teenager, theyd have to come off!

I've always thought those skates didnt fit in too well with the other characters.. but that's what makes them cool.

Some of the skating parts were quie funny in the first season, but I don't think the joke could have held out much longer.

Yeah, you're right about that. I noticed though, in the second season, you could see her skates hanging on the coat rack in their bedroom. I thought that was a cool move, they should've kept them longer on the coat rack though, just as continuity I guess, but they all probably wanted to forget the first season. Was it ever *really* explained why the skates disappeared. I believe they *might* have been mentioned in the E! True Hollywood Story, but I haven't seen it in months, so I can't really remember.

I liked the skates...but it was a good move to take them off of her when they did...and i tought it was cute in the reunion movie when Tootie finds her skates and said something about them not being able to fit

I thought the Tootie on skates idea was very brilliant considering most of the girls at Eastland were taller than her, there were some great moments with those skates and so many laughs that came from them, but I didn't think they could stick to Tootie any longer, so I'm guessing they left them to collect dust.

Well, the only reason they had Kim's character in skates was because she was to short for the part. And they figured that with skates, it would boost up her height. So once she got tall enough she didn't have to wear them anymore. I never really watched the first season because NMK wasn't in it...But I'm sure her getting rid of her skates was played off as maybe them being to "childish" for her. She always did want to act more mature than her age in the 1st season.
