Default Has Valentine's Day suddenly become big for commercials

It used to be that after Christmas they would focus on President's Day commercials advertising President's Day sales and you would see few Valentine's Day commercials. But now it seems today that between the Super Bowl commercials and President's Day commercials Valentine's Day has suddenly become big in commercials. Because I have seen commercials for Valentine's Day for Shari's Berries and every year Dairy Queen advertises their famous Cupid Cake commercials and even pizza restaurants promote Valentine's Day with heart-shaped pizzas. But I think the biggest moneymaker for Valentine's Day commercials is jewelry stores. Because you see commercials for Zales Jared and Kay Jewelers as well as Shane Company Jewelers and it tells me that jewelry is the top selling Valentine's Day gift in the world and Hallmark advertises Valentine's Day commercials with slogans like "Show your true love this Valentine's Day" or Tell your crush who's number one in your heart" and it tells me that Valentine's Day has exploded like wildfire and is bigger than ever in commercials

When I was researching commercials on Youtube it seems that they are expecting Valentine's Day to be huge this year. Because I saw Valentine's Day commercials for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups sold in the shape of hearts and also Lindt Chocolate is already promoting Valentine's Day candies and I think candy has now become the number one selling Valentine's Day item in the world. And a shocking thing is that you do not see Valentine's Day commercials promoting jewelry and flowers anymore and it makes me think a lot of people are buying candy as Valentine's Day gifts replacing flowers and jewelry. Because back then you used to see commercials for FTD Florists advertising Valentine's Day bouquets and jewelry stores would promote Valentine's Day jewelry sales on jewelry as it drew closer to Valentine's Day but now you don't see that anymore today

I think the main reason why Valentine's Day commercials have also become big this year is that next to Easter and Christmas and Halloween Valentine's Day is the fifth biggest holiday for candy sales and it tells me that Valentine's Day is when a lot of candy is sold on that day alone. And in restaurant commercials they always advertise Valentine's Day specials on prime rib dinners and seafood and as I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread pizza restaurants have now made heart shaped pizzas and I can blame Papa Murphy's Pizza for starting this Valentine's Day trend every year. But it used to be that Italian food was the in Valentine's Day dinner every year and restaurants like Olive Garden would advertise Valentine's Day dinners. But as the years go by I think Valentine's Day commercials will get even more airplay on TV because I think they want to make Valentine's Day a big major holiday next to Easter and Christmas and Halloween

I also think that Valentine's Day is trying to regain an audience by promoting it more in commercials this year even in the Super Bowl because they promoted Lindt Chocolate Truffles and I can see why people spend a lot of money on candy for Valentine's Day next to flowers. But what I think happened this year was they overhyped Valentine's Day in commercials beginning in January and by the time February arrived people are getting tired of Valentine's Day commercials. But when March arrives the companies will start repeating the same thing with Easter commercials until Easter arrives on April 20th this year

I think this year was the strongest year for Valentine's Day commercials because they basically promoted it beginning in January and once January was over Valentine's Day commercials got overhyped and I can't recall Valentine's Day being so hyped up in commercials during the 80's and 90's but once the 2000's began you began to see more commercials for jewelry and candy and flowers because those things were popular Valentine's Day gifts and now you can find places like Omaha Steaks have Valentine's Day commercials advertising Valentine's Day sales. I think next to Christmas Valentine's Day has become the second holiday for commercials now
