Default Episode "Bob and Carol and Larry and Terri"

This episode IMO is the worst episode of the show ever, the title is a word play on a 1969 adult comedy movie "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" but that's where the similarities end.

The episode itself is of course a typical TC trope of misunderstanding in which an incident about two neighbors Bob and Carol spreads around but gets switched around each time it's told leading to believe that Bob and Carol are splitting up.

Right off the bat we're introduced to two never before and never seen again apartment neighbors Bob and Carol that really were just annoying I guess due to the nature of the plot the writers needed a married couple for it to make sense but why even have an episode like this? was it intended as a back door pilot for these two nobodies?

Anyway yeah that's my rant on one of the worst TC episodes ever.

I agree its one of my least favorite episodes. The writers were really getting desperate. Not only do we not know these characters but the kids seem very instrumental in their lives. They trust the kids more than their own spouse.
Its all so confusing and almost like trying a failed spin off. Sometimes its so bad that I enjoy watching it like a car crash.

Oh No! Bob and Carol's marriage is on the rocks. Not really, their boat just crashed into some rocks

I need some information on this episode. It was from left field with two characters we never seen before. And since they had an apt in the building how come we never saw them again?

I can tell you in my fanfiction I like to believe that Bob and Carol got a divorce with Carol leaving to an undisclosed country and Bob went into the witness protection program and changed his name to Francis Kirk and built a backstory as having been one of Jack's old high school friends.

Im thinking the idea came from a 1969 Movie called Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice

It almost reminded me of the Golden Girls episode "Empty Nest" where we meet neighbors we never met before but they are such good friends as if they are in every episode. Its almost like a backdoor pilot for a new series but it's not.

I even tried reading old newspapers to get some background information on this episode but nothing
