What I mean is that even though he was starring in a successful prime time sitcom, he never quit his "day job", which was as the radio broadcaster for the Milwaukee Brewers. I'm assuming that the scheduled filming dates for Mr. Belvedere would oftentimes, conflict with the Major League Baseball season, which typically runs from April-October.

The Brewers weren't very good from 1985 to 1990. They didn't make the playoffs, so they weren't playing well into October. They had a 25-year postseason drought from 1983 to 2007. They finally won the National League Wild Card in 2008.
I would assume the Brewers gave him some weekends off in August and September. It looks like they taped on Fridays starting in Season 2. He could fly back and forth between Milwaukee (or wherever the Brewers were playing) and Los Angeles. He could have flown to Los Angeles on Thursday and been back in Milwaukee by Monday. They probably would tape the first 8-12 episodes from August to December. Then they would tape the rest from January until the start of the MLB season the first week of April. Maybe they were able to tape around him for the first few episodes of Seasons 2-6 until he was back in Los Angeles full time. He missed three episodes ("The Escort", "The Dinner" and "The Attic") in Season 5. On February 14, 1989, he suffered a very mild heart attack at his Los Angeles-area residence. Uecker Resting After ‘Very Mild Heart Attack’ Season 1 (1985) - The Pilot was taped on January 9, 1985. The other 6 Season 1 episodes were taped from February–April. Season 2 (1985-1986) - All 22 episodes of Season 2 were taped from August 1985 – March 1986. 11 episodes aired from September to December. Season 3 (1986-1987) - All 22 episodes of Season 3 were taped from August 1986 – March 1987. 10 episodes aired from September to December. Season 4 (1987-1988) - All 22 episodes of Season 4 (including the two leftover episodes that aired during season 5) were taped from June 1987 – February 1988. 8 episodes aired from October to December. The season premiere was delayed until October 30 due to the Writers Guild of America strike. Season 5 (1988-1989) - All 22 episodes of Season 5 (not counting the two Season 4 leftovers) were taped from August 1988 – March 1989. 10 episodes aired from October to December. Season 6 (1989-1990) - All 22 episodes of the 6th and final season were taped from August 1989 – March 1990. 12 episodes aired from September to December. Due to rapidly declining ratings (which already were not high to begin with), after 12 episodes, ABC quickly shelved the series, along with eight episodes. The eight episodes that ABC shelved would eventually make their debut in syndication in 1991. Here are some TV taping tickets.
