Just curious if anyone knows what happened to Michael McKean during the final season? He still appears in the credits(only David Lander is credited though), yet is absent from the majority, if not all of the episodes.. Did he have something else going on at the time; was there a dispute over money; or did he just want out?

He was working on writing Spinal Tap's screenplay, if I remember what I heard correctly.

Hey Rockapella, thanks for the response.. that's most likely what the reason was.. What horrible timing though, to already lose Shirley, and then lose half of Lenny & Squiggy..

I can back up Rockapella... it was Spinal Tap that he was working on

I wonder if the crew had been expecting him to come back (if there'd been another season)...
