I came across this episode of Mr. Belvedere with Jane Leeves in it. She plays Kevin's college professor whom he has a crush on. She of course, turns Kevin down, but takes a liking to Mr. Belvedere since he is English, they both have a lot in common and have both been to India. Kevin gets jealous and tries to get her to notice him but she only considers him a student. Jane always seems to play a character that someone falls madly in love with at first glance.
In the end though, Mr. Belvedere and her decide to take a break from one another, since he is Kevin's butler and it would just be too awkward. A great episode. I wish she would have been on more but I will take what I can get. |

I saw this the other day. It was great seeing her! It would've been awesome if she was on again.

Unfortunately, she never did do this show again. This was the last season of Mr. Belvedere. The finale was 10 episodes later.

I guess at that time it would have been nice for her to have the work and be able to be on again, but really, it was kind of a flat character. I'd much rather see her in roles that have a little more color to them. Thank goodness she didn't get stuck in roles like that one, or I fear we would never have even heard of her today. I think the quirky characters she played on Murphy Brown and Frasier helped show her versatility and talent and make her much more marketable... and make her a name most people have heard of today, too.
