Sure, I like Beave too, but Father Knows Best is the better show. It just has more of an 'edge'. I still think FKB might just be the best show ever.

I'm going with "Leave It To Beaver" it is truly one of the best between "Father Knows Best". Both Sitcoms are different in there seperate ways, though.

I like both shows, but think Robert Young and Jane Wyatt made more realistic parents than Barbara Billingsly and Hugh Beaumont. I also think Bud was a more realistic teenager than Wally or eventually Beaver. Overall I would have to say Father was best.

Of course most people on this site are saying 'Beaver' was better, it was the dullest of the two shows. Why is it everyone on this site thinks bad tv is good. If i read one more post about the facts of life being a good show, or how Charles in Charge needs a better time slot I will throw up. Cheers, MASH, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, these are good shows, these are classics. This other stuff is at best 'camp' and at worst time fillers. I think it is possible ti be a fan of sitcoms and not be brain dead.

Look, you like your shows and other people like other shows. Some people may think the shows you like are fillers.

I personally can't stand more than 3 seconds of "Leave it to Beaver" at a time. In my opinion, the show absolutely stunk!!

Look, Everyone Is Entitled To Like Different Shows! Just Because You Hate Them Doesn't Mean Everyone Who Doesn't Hate Them Is Brain Dead! And If The Facts Of Life, And Leave It To Beaver Are Such "Bad" Tv Shows Then How Come So Many People Watched Them For All These Years?

Leave It to Beaver is by far the better show. You have to look at a number of different things when comparing.

First personally, I just can't watch an entire episode of Father Knows Best, I don't know why, but I just can't. It's just not interesting to me. It seems like no one can do no wrong in that sitcom.

Second, Beaver had better writing, directing and cast.

Technically, these two shows shouldn't really be compared. Beaver was seen from the point of view of a child, it is better compared to The Wonder Years.

Father Knows Best and The Donna Reed Show can be compared better, and in that case, again Father Knows Best is inferior.

I find it rather insulting for parkert to generalize everyone on here as liking Leave It to Beaver. Obviously, this person hasn't spent much time on this or any of the message boards. That would be like me stating that everyone likes The Brady Bunch, and JT can contest to the errors in that statement.

I get alot more laughs from Beaver. FKB is possibly more heart-warming as it usually ends with a lesson that you want to say "awww, that's so touching". But along the way it is kind of boring. Beaver ends with a lesson alot too but then Beaver says something weird at the end to make it funny!

Also I like the kids better on Beaver. Wally and Beaver are more likeable (and interesting) than the Anderson kids IMO. Also, can you name one friend of the Anderson kids and their specific personality? Whereas I can name Wally's and Beaver's buddies and they all have very diverse and specific traits (Eddie Haskell, Larry, Whitey, Gilbert, Judy etc.)

And even though it is obvious that Jim and Margaret love their kids, I get much more of a warm feeling from June and Ward. I love to watch Barbara Billingsley while Jane Wyatt leaves me rather cold. Also June and Ward's interaction is much more fun to watch than Jim and Margaret.

The plots are fairly simplistic on both shows but FKB is a bit more predictable. Sometimes on Beaver it isnt quite as obvious what is going to happen.

And finally I think FKB is probably more a girls show where Beaver is a boys show. No I'm not a chauvinist but I remember my sister used to like FKB and I would like Beaver. There were no girls in Beaver's family (not counting June) where the Andersons had two girls and one boy.

I liked Beaver as a kid and still like it as an adult.

Now I have to agree with you half way on TFOL. I don't hate it, I think it is more of a girls thing.

ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU DONOT HAVE A RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT OUR BEAVER LIKE THAT!
