"Even setting aside all the other issues the fires present—diverting precious emergency resources, travel for fans and players, safety from the fires themselves—air quality is a major factor, whether the fires are burning by Monday," says Front Office Sports' Margaret Fleming of Monday night's game, set to be played at Inglewood's SoFi Stadium. An NFL spokesperson told Front Office Sports: “Relevant NFL policy states that ‘medical experts have generally agreed that an AQI (Air Quality Index) that consistently measures over 200 in the immediate vicinity of the stadium signifies very unhealthy conditions in which vigorous exercise is not recommended.’” The NFL said it has a contingency plan to move Monday's game to Glendale, Arizona, where the Cardinals play.

But the stadium is indoors . So why would it matter?

They are going to move it to Arizona. So I guess even though it would be indoors, this is for the best. It's stressful and hard to breath here , it will be better for the players.

Unlike other domed stadiums, SoFi Stadium has open-air sides on its north and south despite its roof. That's the reason why Sofi Stadium can't host NCAA Basketball Final Fours, etc. (but it has already hosted one WrestleMania).

Besides the air quality concerns, there’s also the police, fire personnel, medical people needed to run a normal event attended by 70,000-100,000 people. Manpower which is better deployed elsewhere.

As soon as the severity of the situation was known, there was no doubt the game was moving. The only question was where.
