Ever since it debuted in theaters in 1987 I never understood why Three Men And A Baby became a popular movie? Did Touchstone Pictures expect the movie to become a smash hit at the box-office in 1987 or did they think that Three Men And A Baby would be a failure? I found it shocking that Three Men And A Baby got a sequel which was Three Men And A Little Lady in 1990 which did better at the box-office. My mom always liked Three Men And A Baby because it's a cute movie and I wonder why a third sequel wasn't planned?

I think the main reason why Three Men And A Baby became a blockbuster hit in 1987 was because of Ted Danson and Tom Selleck and considering Ted Danson was popular due to Cheers and Tom Selleck was successful in Magnum PI I guess putting them with Steve Guttenberg made Tom and Ted and Steve a dynamic trio. But why Three Men And A Little Lady was made was because I think they wanted to cash in on the success of Three Men And A Baby and they wanted to show fans what happened to the baby as she grew up and I think they saw an idea for a sequel

In my eyes why Three Men And A Baby was popular because of Ted Danson due to Cheers he became a big star and when you match him with any actor for any movie Ted Danson brings a lot of laughs to the table. But I mainly think Touchstone Pictures had a lot of high hopes for Three Men And A Baby because I think they were gonna build a franchise series and due to the less than stellar success of Three Men And A Little Lady in 1990 the franchise idea was shelved. But how this movie was a monster hit in 1987 is a mystery
