Default Your favorite drummers from a band

Grew up during the 80's, so these bands are from that era. I like dominating and thundering drum sound and these guys sure didn't disappoint.

Steve Smith of Journey: Modern Drummer magazine readers voted him the No. 1 All-Around Drummer five years in a row, and definitely deserve that praise. Very loud and in your face sound.

Mel Gaynor of the band Simple Minds: High speed song and a quick drummer that never takes a breather.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqIr6WPfgTw

Myron Grombacher of Pat Benatar: You can see his energetic drumming style in this video.

Definingly two of the best drummers in the business, especially Bonham with his thundering drum sound. I am sure if he hadn't died in 1980, Led Zeppelin probably would have put put out few more albums.

I love Brian Prout from Diamond Rio who sadly retired in 2022, and I love Joe Smyth from the Sawyer Brown band who thankfully is still going strong.

God bless you and each past and present members of both bands always!!!

Holly

P.S. Sawyer Brown will celebrate their 41st year on the radio this year.

Thanks Joe. Country music drummers seem to be more obscured than their Rock counter part. I'm guessing that is part due to country music being more star oriented than band oriented.

Wow 80sTrivia, not too familiar with Foo Fighters but the drummer have very aggressive and loud type of playing. Have to check out more of their music
