Default The scarest movies of all time

Which movies Creeped you out the most
I don't watch to many scary movies because though kind of movies creep me out.

Nightmare on Elme Street
The Grimlens
Willow
Jaws
Planet of the Aps
Conspiracy Theory- This wasn't real scary only when the main CIA operative tried to kill Jerry.

The true test of the scariest movies is to watch them at night, alone, in the dark.

The scariest for me would be The Shining directed Stanley Kubrick.

Halloween is without a doubt a movie you wouldn't want to watch alone and in the dark for the first time.

It used to be the Exorcist, but I saw it like a million times. Still, its scary to watch alone in the dark. I watched Poltergiest, I did not think that was scary, my friend did tho. I think some of the cheesy 70s and 80s movies are somewhat scary, cuz u never know when the killers are gonna pop up. I hate jump scenes, I usually scream, hehe.

Scary movie to watch alone in the dark and try to make it without turning it off/ or turning on the lights. hmm, I would say--The Exorcist (I think it still packs a wallop), Jaws ( a fear we all can relate to), or a psychological horror film where the evil is felt and heard but not necessarily seen--such as The Haunting. I also think that the tv mini-series adaption of Stephen King's "Salem's Lot" is very scary.

Some of the scariest movies:

Stanley Kubrick's The Shining
Rosemary's Baby
The Omen
Halloween
Friday the 13th
The Exorcist
Don't Look Now

Brian DePalma is a master of building up the suspense, he directed:

Dressed to Kill (the few minutes just prior the elevator scene)Carrie (the few minutes just prior to the prom)

I didnt find Exorcist scary- just a lil creepy because I believe in all that stuff, but it was so long it bored me. Plus, I saw it in the theatres when it came back for the anniversary so it wasnt like I was home alone.

The only movie that gave me serious nightmares and to this day refuse to watch is IT. Something about that clown REALLY scares me...

I can watch a lotta scary movies and not get scared. But when it comes down to it the scariest movie I have ever seen isn't supposed to be scary but it scared the crap outta me. Ok, the scariest movie in my opinion is............Ben Hur.

That movie....omg...we watched parts of it in S.S...and let's just say...I went home and cried...and that movies only G!!!

The scariest movie is.... Jeepers Creepers.

-shiver- I HATE that demon. HATE it.

Look at all the people that have seen an Ellen Burstyn movie...I'm feeling so obsessed right now. It used to be The Exorcist until I saw it and it didn't really scare me, now the scariest would be...Carrie (it hasn't actually been on yet but the previews are creepy) and Red Dragon. Red Dragon may not seem scary to everyone else but certain images in that are really really disturbing.
