Some seem to think so and it looks like it's still Up In The Air.

The thing I have always hated most about DST are the time changes. So on the one hand, I feel making it universal is a good move. On the other hand, criticisms of DST in the winter months have validity.
Personally, I'd prefer year round standard time. The folks who want to get up early to enjoy the longer days, "let em", but why force everyone to dance to their music? |

I hate moving the clocks, but I also hate driving thru states who refuse to comply with DST and trying to figure out what time it is

I always understood it was only Hawaii and Arizona who do not change, they stay on Standard Time always..... You are saying other states don't change? I'm home mostly and when DST comes around here in CA I don't change my clocks. I know what time it is for my life. I'd vote for DST as the constant.

Im not ready for the year long DST at all but I can imagine DST continue as the tradition for mainly Spring & Summer Months. The last time DST ended on final Sunday of October each year was 17 years ago.

Just realiing that this time change started in 1918 and has been going on forever....so we who done the time changing have no idea what it's like to live with just one time, unless we live in Hawaii or Arizona. BTW: It's this Sunday that the clocks change again to DST. |

Indiana used to not observe the time change. But that meant we were with Ohio part of the year and with Illinois part of the year, which was strange. I would like daylight savings time made permanent, but only if it were national.

Does anyone live near a Time Zone border? As in going to Walmart is going an hour ahead or behind?
One good thing is that in my stupid home state, bars have to close at 3 AM, but in Fall when the clock goes back, it is one more hour of drinking! |

Location nearer one end of a time zone can certainly shape your experiences with it.
LA, nearer the east boundary of the Pacific time zone than it is to the west, during the dead of winter your street street lights coming on at 4:30-4:45 in the afternoon....and that gets depressing. Knowing it will already be dark before you get off work. Where I am now, we have just the opposite, nearer the western bounds of the eastern time zone......and in late June early July it's not uncommon to see residual daylight in the sky at 10:10 PM. Which just seems wrong. Qualifier, our physical location, geographically we should be in the Central Time zone, but through political manipulations we moved to the Eastern zone years ago to appease special interests. I think rightly from an astronomical view, the boundary separating the Eastern Zone from the Central should be about 125 miles east of here. |

Here are the sunrise and sunset times for the month of December https://www.sunrisesunsettime.org/no...s-december.htm And I can recall walking out to my car after work, just a little after 5 pm, and it being night time already |

I have a crazy idea, why don't we just leave it the way it is! If we stay at DSL, in the late fall and early winter kids will be waiting at bus stops and walking to school in the dark of night, why is that a good thing?
