It may already be posted here, but for those who want to sing along, here are the words to "Car 54, Where Are You?":
There's a hold-up in the Bronx, Brooklyn's broken out in fights, There's a traffic jam in Harlem that's backed up to Jackson Heights, There's a scout troop short a child, Kruschev's due at Idlewilde, CAR 54, WHERE ARE YOU?? This theme song just KILLS me!!

I liked it so much that I wrote it down on a blackboard early one morning at a church--because I COULD!! And I'll probably do it again.

...were written by Nat Hiken, the music by John Strauss (who wrote the theme and incidental music for Hiken's other series, "THE PHIL SILVERS SHOW").

for those who may be wondering what that last line means, Nikeda Kruschef s the prime minister of Russia at the time, and Idlewhilde was an airport in New York.

..'treky'....that "Idlewild Airport" became "Kennedy Airport" {aka "JFK Airport"} in early 1964, shortly before Nikita Khruschev was "removed" from office in the Soviet Union.
