Anyone Know of any "Young Grandparents"?

I recently struck up a convo. with a woman at a bar who was only a couple of years older than me at 41. She told me that she's already a grandmother.

She said she got pregnant at 18 and that her 23-year-old son has a 1-year-old daughter. I guess I was just shocked that someone a few years older than me is grandma. Most people I know around my age just had their own kids.

I know decades ago that people got married and started families much younger than recent generations. It's hard for me to picture a school having a "Grandparents' Day" and be full of people in their 40s or early 50s, not "old".

Yes, my wife and I are "young grandparents."
My stepson made my wife and I "grandparents" at a very, very young age.
I was 34 and my wife was 38 ...
we now have a total of 23 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids and counting....

Yep, I used to work with a girl when I was about 22 and she was about 17, I'm 44 now and saw her recently and she's a grandmother now, so she'd be around 39
