Has ABC's Disney's Merry Christmas Parade gone downhill in recent years?

Next to their annual ABC former Easter tradition Disney's Happy Easter Parade I remember when Disney and ABC used to have the Disney's Merry Christmas Parade every Christmas and it used to be a fun parade. But if you watch it today you'll notice that this parade is not the same and is a carbon copy of their former Easter Parade. And I think it started when Regis Philbin passed away and Kelly Ripa quit co-hosting it that ABC and Disney gave it a new image and the parade started having various hosts that people quit watching it entirely. I was looking at some of the earlier Disney's Merry Christmas parades on Youtube from the 90's and I can say that they wanted to copy Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade minus the balloons and the 90's parades were awesome to watch. But if you watch the Disney's Merry Christmas Parade today on ABC you'll notice before the parade actually begins they have singers like Kelly Clarkson or bands like The Jonas Brothers do a mini concert and to me this is a huge timewaster and they should have the Disney Characters do a wonderful preshow then introduce the cohosts. And the second annoying thing is that Disney's Merry Christmas Parade sticks comedians and sitcom stars from ABC shows as a commentator such as Wayne Brady and Dave Chappelle and it looks like they copied Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with Al Roker with this. But gone are also the cute character skits and they don't show enough of the Disney characters from Christmas parades from Disneyland and the other theme parks parades. I cannot figure out why this parade is still surviving on ABC or how it gets good ratings every Christmas but this parade should improve itself well
