Days of Our Lives/Dynasty Actor Wayne Northrop Dead at 77

Actor Wayne Northrop, best known for his role as the heroic cop Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives and as Michael Culhane, Blake Carrington's mysterious chauffeur, on prime time soap Dynasty, has died at the age of 77.

General Hospital actress Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe), who was married to Northrop for 43 years, announced his passing, saying, "Wayne was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's six years ago. He took his last breath in the arms of his family." The couple would buy and restore the historic Raymond House and turn it into a museum and also ran a working cattle ranch near Yosemite, California, where the couple and their children resided for 35 years.

This news comes only a few weeks after the passing of another beloved Days of Our Lives vet, Drake Hogestyn in September. Hogestyn would briefly play the character of Roman Brady on the show after Northrop's departure before the character transformed into John Black, who would also be paired with Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) as one of the soaps most enduring super couples.
